Hello/Boozhoo

My name is Elise Ruel.  I am a certified full-spectrum doula, and traditional Indigenous birth keeper based in the Okanagan Valley. With over 10 years of experience in birth advocacy, my journey began with the birth of my son and was reaffirmed through the birth of my daughter. This deeply transformative experience ignited my passion for supporting families through their birthing time.

My approach centers on strong advocacy, education, and one-on-one support, lovingly and expertly encouraging families to enter their birthing time with confidence and clarity. I believe that birth should be an empowering, informed, and peaceful experience. My goal is to provide guidance and support not only during birth but also throughout the postpartum transition, ensuring families move forward with ease and excitement.

As a birth keeper, I draw on the wisdom of traditional Indigenous practices, weaving together ancient knowledge and modern evidence-based support to create safe, nurturing birth spaces. I am dedicated to helping families create a birth experience that honors their personal values and choices.
