Hello, I'm Maaia.

A newly trained Birth and Postpartum Doula through Doula School Canada (Full Spectrum certification) and aspiring Analog Birth Photographer. 

I am passionate about supporting others and creating real community. The journey of pregnancy and birth is a time of major change and transformation. I want those moving through this time to feel seen, supported, and confident. I believe in the value of being able to express emotion, ask questions, and voice concerns... all without fear of judgment. In creating spaces that feel safe and regulating to the nervous system; in advocacy as care. 

I hold my role as a Birth Worker to that of the advocate. Not just as an advocate for the rights of the individual, but for the systems in place and the changes required to gain and uphold those rights. 

My aim is to provide care that is compassionate, as well as culturally and trauma informed. I believe everyone has to the right to birth in a way feels best for them, and that all births are valid and worthy of celebration and authentic documentation. 

I am here to help you feel empowered as you enter into this liminal state.
